![]() It’s not the prettiest campus but it’s going through some renovations so it looks slightly better. Other than the science department, the rest of the campus is pretty nice too. DVC professors, in general, are very dedicated to helping their students learn the material well. PS- 110 especially has been such a great place for students to study together. Most of the professors in the science field are very helpful and very challenging in a way that (I believe) truly benefits a student who wants to learn a lot. I’m a third year science major and the science department here is no joke. Other then that, if you have other choices for community colleges go to them before coming to this messed up school. Its close to home for most people in Contra Costa County to Solano County. The only really good thing about DVC is the location. They have gotten better and I have not gotten it since my first semester but I would highly recommend to stay away. they don’t always cook the food and I have gotten food poisoning from it. I would recommend bringing your own lunch from home. Granted the cafeteria is okay and the food is better then high school but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The internet is always down and the staff does nothing about any of the problems that they are faced with (especially with students wanting change to happen). A lot of construction is always going on. The hall ways are extremely cramped and there is no way around the snotty bitchy people that stand in the middle, taking up the whole hallway, and never moving out of the way for other people. They steal, lie, and push you out of they way if they want your spot in line or last item that your going for. The students are extremely rude and have no sense of manners. AGAIN… LOOK UP YOUR TEACHERS!!! Don’t get some asian teacher that can’t speak english and then complain to the school because they wont do anything about it. Most of the staff here doesn’t speak english and you can’t understand them or the lesson causing you to fail the class and have to retake it again. The ticket pass things never work when the «maintenance» say that they fixed them. Don’t even think about parking in the parking lots where business are because apparently college students have «enough» parking to fit everyone at the school. You literally have to get to the school and 1 to 2 hours early if you want any sort of «good» parking. You will most likely have to sign up for classes a week before school starts. If you plan your classes yourself, forget the plan and get whatever classes you can because your «priority registration» is never early. This school makes it so that you have to go through their counseling program in order to get classes that you need. What a headache! I would rather drive to Merritt College and have an easy time registering and parking! I just wish the administration made the processes more accessible and less mysterious so it would be possible to get into classes. It is also a beautiful campus with a view of Mount Diablo and nice sitting areas. I took physiology here and was very happy with professor Willsie and the quality of the Bio-science labs. Unfortunately their in-site email doesn’t work well, so I didn’t get into the Medical Terminology class. They appear to have some strange policy about being waitlisted for classes where they drop you off the waitlist if you don’t respond to an email through their own email system. No point, I chose to bike to class and got there faster. As everyone else mentioned, you could drop dead while waiting for a parking spot. Navigating all of their regulations and faulty electronic systems is absolutely frustrating. I thought this was supposed to be a community college that was accessible to the community. I had much difficulty enrolling for classes. Attending this school is a crash course in bureaucracy.
